Celebration of Harvest
October 11, 1 to 4pm
Rancho Sisquoc, Santa Maria
Mary and I invite you to join us for
the Santa Barbara County Vintner’s Association
Celebration of Harvest Festival, which will be
held at the Rancho Sisquoc Winery in Santa Maria. The
event is always a great opportunity to sample wines
from Santa Barbara County and, in particular, the Sta.
Rita Hills AVA. In addition to the 100+ members of the
Vintners’ Association pouring their wines, the
afternoon will feature wine country appetizers from
over two dozen local chefs, live and lively music, and
a silent auction to benefit local charities.
Get full details and purchase tickets here.
We will be featuring ‘futures’
of our new 2006 pinot noirs, which won’t be released
until spring of 2009. If you liked our 2005's, we think
that you will love the 2006's.
Open
House
October 12, 11am to 4pm
Stop by and see our new Rancho La
Viña production facility and see a little of
the orchestrated chaos that is harvest. Ripening was
delayed for us by about 3 weeks this year, so, if you
decide to visit, we should still be in the thick of
the crush. The address is 4457 Santa Rosa Road, Buellton
(approximately 10 miles west of Highway 101; 5 miles
east of Highway 1). As you can see, the building just
peeks above the trees in a walnut orchard in the heart
of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. It is populated
by an eclectic group of winemakers, all of whom will
be holding Sunday open houses. In addition to ourselves,
our neighbors are: Morgan Clendenen (Cold Heaven)
Kris Curran and Bruno D’Alfonso (D’Alfonso-Curran
Wines), Joe Davis (Arcadian) and Wes Hagen
(Clos Pepe).
It’s a great one-stop wine experience
that we look forward to sharing with you.
Cheers

October 19, 1 to 4pm
Huber Vineyard
“Paws” for a moment
this Sunday and stop in at the Huber Vineyard on Hwy
246, between Buellton and Lompoc. We’ll be joining
Norman and Traudl Huber, along with some other animal-loving
winemakers for an afternoon of good food, great wines
and lively conversation! This special tasting is in
memory of the Huber’s longtime black Labrador,
Charlotte and 100% of ticket sales will benefit the
Santa
Ynez Valley Humane Society.
